We had two reasons to celebrate recently – it was the start of summer (finally!) and India Hicks was in town. We were very excited by the latter because if you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know we adore Hicks – and not just because her style is impeccable...

She’s incredibly open, honest and continues to inspire us with each chapter that she begins – both personally and professionally. So how exactly do you entertain someone who has written myriad books on entertaining in style, and lives in paradise (Hicks has spent over 20 years residing in the Bahamas)? The answer was aboard the spectacularly charming Blue Goose boat (owned by The Boathouse Group). With a glass of Bollinger in hand, we sped around our iconic Sydney Harbour. Most of our readers will be very familiar with Hicks (we’ve interviewed her on our podcast, and she also features in our book Grace Mothers). She’s the celebrated designer, entrepreneur, humanitarian and mother of five – and famously, one of Princess Diana’s bridesmaids and the goddaughter of King Charles. Hosted by our founder Georgie Abay, we celebrated with guests such as Maison Balzac’s Elise Pioch, model Kate Bell, Beauticate founder Sigourney Cantelo, SugarMamma founder Canna Campbell and author and speaker Aminata Conteh-Biger. What a way to kick off the silly season. Here, we share some of the highlights from our beautiful event with the inspiring Hicks (stay tuned for our big interview and shoot with her, out in January). Can we do it all over again?
